The Why, The People, The Purpose;

Navica Supports
2 min read

Support should never feel cold, confusing or out of reach.

My name is Madelyn Agius, and I am the Founder of Navica Supports. I created Navica Supports because I wanted to build something that felt different. Something more human. Something grounded in dignity, honesty and genuine care.

As an AASW accredited social worker, I have seen how overwhelming systems like the NDIS, mental health services, housing, health care and community supports can feel for people and families. I have also seen how powerful the right support can be when someone takes the time to listen, understand and walk alongside a person properly.

For me, this work is both professional and deeply personal. I hold many of the supports and services we provide extremely close to my heart. They reflect the reasons I entered this space in the first place: to support people through uncertainty, crisis, transition, recovery and change, without making them feel like they are just another referral or another number.

I did not establish Navica Supports because I believed one service could have all the answers. I established it because I believe people deserve support that is thoughtful, practical and connected to their real life. They deserve to have their voice heard, their choices respected and their circumstances understood.

Through Navica Supports, my team and I provide NDIS Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination, psychosocial support, early childhood support and holistic case management. Our role is to help people make sense of complex systems, connect with the right supports and build a network around them that is meaningful, respectful and sustainable.

My approach is grounded in social work values. This means looking beyond funding, diagnosis or service labels, and taking the time to understand the whole person. Their relationships, culture, safety, environment, goals, strengths, challenges and lived experience all matter.

For me, good support is not about taking over. It is about standing beside someone, helping them understand their options, strengthening their voice and supporting them to make informed choices in their own life.

Navica Supports is continuing to grow with care and intention. Alongside our current NDIS and social work services, we are developing new supports across athlete mental health, rehabilitation, DVA social work and wellbeing services. These areas are especially close to my heart because they speak to the parts of life that are often unseen: identity, recovery, pressure, belonging, family, community and what happens when life changes unexpectedly.

I am also passionate about creating space for community connection. Through upcoming community events, Navica Supports hopes to bring people together, raise awareness, strengthen local relationships and support causes that matter to the people, families and communities we work alongside.

These supports, services and events are being developed thoughtfully, with a strong commitment to ethical practice, person centred support and community focused care.

At the heart of Navica Supports is a simple belief: people deserve support that feels human. Support that walks beside them with respect, honesty and care.
